Head of the Department Speech
In the name of God the Most Gracious the Most Merciful
It’s my pleasure to serve as head of physics department, college of science, Al-Muthanna university.
I thank God Almighty for making me in this position, which holds many duties in its place, foremost of which is God’s satisfaction before everyone’s satisfaction. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to the President of the University Dr. Hassan Odah Al-Ghanmi and the Dean of College of Science Dr. Hussein Jaber Abdul-Hussain, For their trust and unlimited support.
In this regard, I will highlight the physics department in short. The department of physics was established in the academic year 2001-2002 and was the basis of the establishment of the Faculty of Science in 2002. The department provide two programs undergraduate (B.Sc.) and postgraduate (M.Sc.) physics. Department follows semester system according to the curricula prepared for this purpose divided into four years for undergraduate study and two years for the post graduate study. The study subjects are divided into two types: theoretical materials and practical materials. The minimum requirement of graduation in B.Sc. program is 146 units. Till this year there were 14 convocations were held in the department.
The postgraduate program was established in the academic year 2016-2017, and the number of postgraduate student increasing yearly in different fields of physics.
The academic staff currently is about 26 staff members, most of them are PhD holder with rich Biography. They are specialized in different fields of pure and applied physics.
